Autumn League

The ACT Ultimate Association's Autumn League will commence on Wednesday 2 April at the Dickson playing fields. The season will run for 10 weeks
finishing on 4 June 2008. The cost per league is $30.00 (if you pay before week 3) and $35 after this date. It costs more to play in autumn as we
need lights each week.

League Organiser
Currently we do not have a volunteer or group of volunteers to run the autumn league. If anyone is interested in running the league they should
contact me. There will be an honorarium paid to the organiser (don't get too excited). In addition we need 2-3 people to set up the fields before
league and collect scores at the end of the match (they can be the same people). Helpers get free league entry.

Cleats / Boots restriction lifted

This means you can play in whatever (sensible) shoes you like.

Division 1

Division 1 league teams will be primarily formed by draft on the first night. However groups of up to 4 people may elect to form the nucleus of a
core team. Each group of 4 must have at least 1 male and I female player. To request a team be opened you will need to contact me and provide a list
of the (up to) 4 people and their AFDA numbers. At least one member of the initiating core will need to attend the draft at 7.45pm on the first
night.

To register for Division 1 go to:
http://afda.com/rego/showdivision.php?divisionid=765

Divisions 2 and 3 (Social League)
Division 2 and Division 3 games will start at approximately 6.40pm and go for one hour. In total we are limited to a maximum of 20 teams. We operate
of a first registered, first accepted basis. That means if you leave it too late, you may miss out. We will close Divisions 2 and 3 (Social
League) registrations when we reach our limit.

Players can register with a specific team or as individuals. Under no circumstances should a person register with a specific team unless they
have the consent of the team captain. To register for Division 2 or Division 3 go to:

Division 2

http://afda.com/rego/showdivision.php?divisionid=766

Division 3
http://afda.com/rego/showdivision.php?divisionid=767

To register a SOCIAL team you need to contact me and provide a team captain and a team name. You will be asked to indicate a preference for
which Division your team would like to play in. Then teams can be registered in their requested Division, on the understanding that it may
change depending on registrations. The acceptance of any team is at the discretion of the League Organiser. Ideally there should be 12 players per
team (7 male / 5 female). However the final team size and player mix will be determined by the League Organiser based on the number of people who
register. If a group of people want to form a team but do not have 12 players there is no problem providing there are at least 7 players (4 male
/ 3 female). The League Organiser will allocate the remaining players.

The registration of a team does not mean that a team will be guaranteed a place in the league. Each player must still register individually. When we
start to reach our optimum size the registration database will be closed. The people who have registered indicating that they do not have a team
will then be allocated to those teams that do not have 12 players. Please note that any person who registers a team is doing so on the
understanding that they will have at least 7 players (4 male / 3 female) registered by Monday 31 March. If there are not 7 players registered by
this date, the proposed team will be dissolved and any players registered in that team will transferred to the unallocated players list and
allocated across other teams. Therefore team captains need to be organised.

Cost
The cost will be $30.00 (by week 3 and then $35.00)
Funds can be transferred electronically to the following account:
Account Name: ACT Ultimate
BSB Number: 801009
Account Number: 309871
Reference: Put your name (otherwise we don't know you have paid)

Registration Close Date
Registrations for Divisions 2 & 3 close 5.00pm Monday 31 March 2008 or earlier if the league is full.

Summer League 2008

The ACT Ultimate Association's Summer League will commence on Tuesday 22 January for social league (Division's 2 & 3) at the Dickson playing fields. The season will run for 9 weeks finishing on 18 March 2008. The cost per league is $25.00 (if you pay before week 3) and $30 after this date.

League Organiser
Currently we do not have a volunteer or group of volunteers to run the summer league. If anyone interested in running the league they should contact me. If we have an organiser we have a league. If we don't have an organiser, we don't have a league. There will be an honorarium paid to the organiser (don't get too excited- you will still have to keep your day job).

Cleats / Boots restriction remains
As per what happened during spring league, the ban on cleats / boots will continue. This is a condition of hire placed on us by ACT Sportsgrounds. Some rubber soled shoes that are similar to cleats / boots are permitted. Therefore people need to consider the issue of footwear before electing to play summer league as any conditions imposed on us will be strictly enforced (or we lose our hire rights).

Spring League Registration

Here are the links (but read the info below first):

Div 1: http://www.afda.com/vfda/showdivision.php?divisionid=632

Div 2: http://www.afda.com/vfda/showdivision.php?divisionid=633

Div 3: http://www.afda.com/vfda/showdivision.php?divisionid=634

Div 1 starts next week (9th Oct) and there is still heaps of room. Div 2 & 3 start tonight.

There is limited room in Div 2 & Div 3 but mainly for girls. There is a place for late comers to register on each of the Div 2 & Div 3 sites for any (boys and girls) and we will try and find them a team.

The cost is $25 if you pay by week 2 then it goes to $30 but it is probably easier just to $30 then there is no need to change.

The most important message is that players cannot wear boots/blades due to the restorative work being undertaken on the fields.

Spring League 2007

Here are the likely starting dates for spring league at Dickson playing fields:
  • Divisions 2 and 3 (Social Leagues - 18-20 teams) from 2/10/07 18:30
  • Division 1 (Intermediate League - 6 teams) from 9/10/07 20:00
More details (including links to registration pages) will be posted when they become available.

Note: it is likely that no cleats with (hard) studs and blades will be allowed on field, due to water restrictions. Rubber cleated turf shoes may be allowed(?).

Main site is down!

Many of you may have noticed that the actua.org.au web site has been displaying a very unhelpful error message for the past week (or more?). The server is running on an old PIII-650 generic PC and the old thing is unwell. So while I try and get it back to health, I've set-up this blogger.com page as an interim solution.
